In 2019, Julia founded The Futures Project, a global initiative to interconnect societal problems and their solutions through responsible innovation and technology.
She Spapes AI
In 2024, Julia founded She Spapes AI, a platform, ecosystem and amplifier to demonstrate the potential of AI done well.
She Shapes AI identifies, celebrates, and supports female trail-blazers around the world who are developing and using AI responsibly and ethically for social impact. By highlighting their impactful work, the annual She Shapes AI Awards demonstrate what is possible when AI aligns with societal values and human – centric principles.

Julia on Innovation
To me, innovation is an approach to problem-solving that is systemic and holistic. Innovation means taking a novel approach to solving a problem that impacts the well-being of people and planet, be it technological, social, economic or other. Innovation is not necessarily disruptive; it can be gradual or build off of traditional knowledge.
